Re: Craft Corner

I could at least try different stitches even if i didnt actually make something. Just some large swatches to get the hang of some stitches? @CheerBear i did apend the last few months just making granny squares so make it is abit of boredom... but i really wanted to make this blanket with you

Re: Craft Corner

You've done so many granny stitches @outlander, I think it's pretty understandable to be bored of them now! I can make something only once - except for the two mandalas I made and only because they change so often that it never gets boring! And I made two of the same matching slippers for a pair of love birds once.

Your blanket can always be picked up again anytime if you want to put it aside for now 🙂 I think your crojo will be found in something that isn't boring for you

Re: Craft Corner

Maybe ill try a different stitch tomorrow @CheerBear and see if that helps.

Ive seen your beautiful mandalas that would be a nice one to make too

Re: Craft Corner

They have YouTube tutorials for every single stitch and part of them @outlander. I had made only very basic things until I started my first one. Diving in to one of them is how I learned how to do all the stitches I need to know. I really think you could give one a go with what you know now and how neat your stitches are.

"Mandala madness" just in case you want to have a look 🙂

I have to hit an off switch I think. Big day tomorrow. So nice to catch you tonight though 👋😘

Re: Craft Corner

Sounds good ill have a look @CheerBear
Good to catch up abit. Hope you find some peace in your busy day ❤

Re: Craft Corner

hey @CheerBear

heres the 2 pieces ive practiced. the yellow and purple is the first one- which surprising looks better than the second one.... 🤔

is the ends suppose to go on an angle or are they suppose to be straight like you would get on a square? i cant get them straight but when you look at pics of them they look straight, maybe thats the border?

Re: Craft Corner

Oooh @outlander! You did it! Looks great I'm always super impressed with how neat those stitches of yours are!

The bottom and top edges have the zigzag but the side edges should be straight. Can you lay them out more straightened (if that makes sense - I'll upload a pic below that might show you what I mean)? From memory with chevron and ripple, once you do a few hills and valleys the piece naturally becomes straighter.

Woohoo you 😁👍

Re: Craft Corner

Can you bend/move them in this direction @outlander ?

Re: Craft Corner

Thanks @CheerBear

Im not sure what your meaning by straightening them out more. When i move the bottom part up it makes the work bend rather than go straighter. Not sure if that makes sense 🤔
I was following bellacocos youtube clip and it looks like hers but when i look at other pics more so finished blankets on pintrest the edging is straighter....

Also do you know how to work out how much yarn you need for each project? I was going to make a lap blanket or something in the chevron stitch with 4 rolls of the yancake but i dont know if itll be enough. Its like a discontinued colour so im stuck with the 4 and trying to work out what to make.
The colours are quite pretty so i dont really want to use it for practice things.

The top one is what happens is its pretty straight. The bottom pic is abit straighter that the original one i shared but its as straight as i can get it before it goes like the top one.

Itll make sense once the pics  come up lol
