Good morning @tyme @TAB @avant-garde @PeppyPatti @Shaz51 @Jynx @Snowie @MDT @Appleblossom @Faith-and-Hope @Ru-bee @AuntGlow @defaultusername @ENKELI @Clawde @Emelia8 and all forumites here. I hope you’re having a wonderful Wednesday!
I can see that lots of things have been happening whilst I’ve been absent including stories of recovery and learning about relationships, people and other exciting and interesting things. Well done to everyone for working through these things and achieving great things!
I’m back on the forums after a long break away- cruise ship holiday to Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef- and I was sick after the cruise for just over a month and am now finally getting better at long last (cold virus, etc.). I’ve also been in the new role as a carer which has taken its toll on me and my overall health situation and which I’m still learning about but am getting help and support with. This has impacted my daily life and time management skills which I’m finally learning to manage in order to take care of myself. The good news is I had a great time on the cruise except for the fact that Port Douglas was cancelled due to poor weather and therefore we had an extra day at Cairns instead. I went to the Cairns Aquarium and enjoyed it, especially the sharks and seeing Nemo and Dory (Finding Nemo movie) up close- Nemo the clownfish are really tiny! The cruise was good although we had rough weather coming back down from Brisbane including some very rough seas that once we arrived into NSW waters and into Newcastle to the point of my housemate being seasick
and me getting soaked by the pool due to the ship rocking and the pool water coming up and splashing everywhere. My housemate also had the scary experience of her thinking her suitcase had gone missing twice - once when arriving into Sydney on our flight from Melbourne before the cruise had even started and then after we had to collect our luggage after the cruise disembarked at the overseas passenger terminal- all good in the end however lessons were learnt in the process for future holidays! Due to missing Port Douglas, my housemate has now booked a holiday in May next year to visit there and is combining that with Cairns to further explore the region so I’ve got that to look forward to.
As for my VCAT hearing that took place on 23/6 - cruise sail day- we did win the case and the property manager didn’t get us evicted which is what she and the landlord wanted. The property manager was really annoyed and instead we got put on a payment plan for the apparent money owed for the next 3 months which she didn’t like but had to accept. We’ve engaged the services of a housing organisation to monitor the rent payments and to assist us with any issues we have with our property manager, including some money missing which we put down but hasn’t been received by the property manager- her standard game she’s been playing for the whole tenancy which they are now aware of. My housemate and I will start looking for new properties in September/October as the lease isn’t getting renewed.
Take care!

Good to see you @Judi9877
glad you are sorting out that property manager. I don’t trust people in real estate much.
glad you enjoyed your cruise. We last went to Sydney aquarium with my son and brother. Special places.

yep @TAB it’s pretty frustrating getting all the misdirection from notifications, and non functioning pages.
yesterday
@Appleblossom I can't always find msgs
Whenever you think ontop of it, there are more tricks like notifications out of order.
Seems easy to keep track of if in real time.
Nap time here.

It’s nowhere as smooth as it used to be @TAB
@avant-garde one of our cats scratches us on the legs if she doesn’t get attention sometimes. Mostly she is utterly adorable, but yep, we need to deal with that cos we never know when it’s coming.
@PeppyPatti I am really glad you supported your volunteer friend express herself and get heard. It should not happen but I am afraid a lot of older females do it. Yes, it’s stressful managing it, and horrible that your friend even needed to drink. Shows in it was going on for a while.
I am dealing with bullying again.. weary sigh… building up to Saturday arvo. I am no longer withdrawing and do work hard finding creative ethical ways to manage it. Sad there is so much of it in the world. Was assuming your bullies were female? They are not always male despite all the DV in the news. Female social skills should be put towards good.
hey… @AlwaysMyself @Judi9877 and anyone reading along who wants to join in…..
