Re: Craft Corner

They sound great @BlueBay
Sucks about the pic being to big. I tend to do the same as Cheerbear or i just keep cropping on the computer until it fits.

I didnt get to do any squares on the weekend so ive still got the same amount as last time. I dont think i can join until i do the 12 and some 8 squares but i cant do that till i find the purple and pink again. They only sell it at big w so i have to wait till one comes in stock. I might have a look at the 2 nearby big w stores and hope they at least have one of each 🙂 @CheerBear i think to join them ill do white or maybe black?

Re: Craft Corner

Oooh white or black would be nice @outlander. I've seen a black outlined granny square blanket and it was 😍 I almost did black for this one.

I noticed this morning that Big W have Carnival yarn on sale - 2 for $5. I think it should be across Australia but not sure when it starts. Super frustrating when the colours you need aren't in stock (like the brown I went hunting for on the weekend 😖). Not being able to get the same yarn has had me tripped up on a number of projects before, including the Sophie blanket I was making and seriously enjoying! That's maybe what I get for ordering a fancy schmancy Dutch yarn from the UK though 😜

Hope you find it soon 🙂

Re: Craft Corner

Im thinking black since the colours are pretty much the same as the cheerbear blanket and i used white to separate the colours so black might be a nice change. I havent worked with black yet so will be a challange to ad its abit harder to see. Maybe help with hiding the mistakes 😮

I know they should keep all yarn in stock! Lol yes buying fancy schmancy yarn from the uk is abit trickier 😎

Re: Craft Corner

Oops @CheerBear might help is i tag you 😏

Re: Craft Corner

@CheerBear...... i think im loosing my crojo 😞 Smiley Frustrated im barely making one sqaure a day, i thought id give making something else ago and still have the nogo happening.

Re: Craft Corner

😂 crojo and nogo - you made me laugh 😆😆 Crojo is awesome!

But not awesome that you've lost your crojo (cant help but giggle at that one sorry!) @outlander.

I'll put my serious face on now 😉 (lol that smiley wink was my go to serious face). Did you pick up some more yarn?

Re: Craft Corner

lol! @CheerBear 😄

i havent gotten any more yarn yet, big w didnt have any of the colours i was after so ill need to order it offline through them so it comes from there warehouse or see if any other local ones have some in stock.

i have quite a few yarn cakes, one is enough to make a small blanket so thought id try to make one of those as id like to make some and donate to a nursing home or something but i done it for about half an hr the other day and havent picked anything else back up. with the sqaures i just get comfy and by the first round i put it back down. its super frustrating cause i want to make it! wheres my crojo gone!

Re: Craft Corner

Awww it happens sometimes @outlander. I can go a little while with a lost crojo (serious chuckle 😆).

I wonder whether you're at the stage of needing a more challenging project? Something new and exciting.

What sort of pattern/stitch were you trying with your yarn cake?

Ps - my crojo can often be found hiding on Pinterest in between all the colourful, pretty, interesting, unusual creations to try. Have you looked there? 😉

Re: Craft Corner

Lol @CheerBear me 'seeing' you chuckle makes me giggle lol.

I was doing a granny stitch. The straight one so side to side rather than round and round. It works up pretty quickly (when i actually sit and do it for more than 5 minutes!)

Im planning on making a blanket for pop ive got a heap of yarn cakes probably more than i would need! But i want to do that chevron stitch. I dont quite have the mental capacity to do a queen size blanket atm though.
Im not really sure what else i could make?
Ive made some keyrings scarfs and beanies already.

Pintrest is great but alot of the things seem hmm out of reach or i doubt i could make it.

Re: Craft Corner

You're way ready I think @outlander but I do get that things can seem overwhelming or beyond you.

You could start with a YouTube tutorial of something different and try it? A chevron lap sized blanket might be nice too - a different stitch so it will be a bit more brain work until you get used to it, but it won't take long to get the hang of either.
