Re: Craft Corner

Thank you @BlueBay ๐Ÿ˜Š I don't have another project (except for a bunch of half finished big ones) yet but it won't take me too long to have started one. I can't be without something to work on for long ๐Ÿ™‚

Have you been crafting anything recently?

Re: Craft Corner

Iโ€™ve lost my motivation and enthusiasm @CheerBear The receptionist at my doctors clinic is having a baby girl in Feb and my hairdresser is having a boy in April. So I thought I might see some blankets.

But nothing else. I have a half finished crochet blanket.

Itโ€™s like I canโ€™t be bothered at all.

Re: Craft Corner

Things like craft can be really affected by our mood and state of mind I think @BlueBay. For me the reverse is also true though and sometimes I find motivation and enthusiasm after I have begun something, even when it was hard to start.

Hopefully it's only a bit of rut for you and you'll find enjoyment again soon โค

Re: Craft Corner

@CheerBear whats the name of your border that you done on your last blanket? the grey one with the multicoloured centre circles granny square blanket? my blanket isnt far off being finished and i think it would look nice with that sort of border on it- what are your thoughts?

Re: Craft Corner

That had me thinking @outlander! I'm pretty sure I used a 'reverse shell' border. The link to the tutorial is here

I absolutely love that border and think it would be great on your blanket!

Another one that might be really nice is a ruffle edging (that will eat through yarn though!).

It's a bit exciting you're so close to finishing it off!

Re: Craft Corner

I cant wait for it to be finished @CheerBear

I had a look at both and the reverse shell is the one im more after. It has a ruffle like effect but its not over the top. The shell/scallop edging is nice too but i might need to do more than one round of single crochet so the edgings a little thicker. I made that mistake with the blue and white one where the border wasnt quite thick enough.
I have 6 rounds to go and the border then its done. I was going to go bigger but i think ill leave it at that size and do another blanket more in a rectangle shape to go on my bed or a couch blanket to curl up in. This ones just over a metre squared as it is so a decent size.

Re: Craft Corner

Im going to have to make a small granny square or 2! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ so i can practice that border @CheerBear

Re: Craft Corner

You're very close now @outlander and that sounds like a lovely size ๐Ÿ™‚ Its going to be so good to cuddle up with something you created yourself โค

That border took a little for my head to get used to and around, but once I did I found my groove with it. You'll need to do a row of sc I before you start it from memory.

Can't wait to see!

Re: Craft Corner

@CheerBear ๐Ÿ˜Š

Yeah a row of sc first then i can start the border. I think at least one row of sc is needed for any border. Ill make a smaller granny square or 2 today and see if i can do it. Will be interesting!

Re: Craft Corner

You'll get there @outlander (and it will be soooo worth it!) ๐Ÿ’—

I just found myself lost in Pinterest land trying to find my next crafty thing. I could spend hours looking at everything feeling my head explode at all the lovelies!
